  So much potential here; they have a great spot on Mends street and are so friendly. It's just that the service is slowwww and the choice of food is average. There are no 'big breakfast' so if you build one from the menu it costs about $26. That's just wrong. Mends street cafe - refresh your breakfast menu, speed up the service and your place will be full everyday

  Popped by after the zoo. Relaxing al fresco area. Bruschetta made up of avocado, basil and feta cheese was absolutely amazing.

  WARNING all customers........I actually can't believe that I'm doing a review but I need to let the public know. On Monday I had breakfast at the cafe, which I have had many times. This time however, it was expensive, coffee bitter and to embellish what I ordered they gave me three pieces of toast??? a bowl full of mushrooms and a chutney. All very well but I only wanted two poached eggs on one piece of toast and a mushroom. Asked for the mushroom not to be cooked in butter....... Yep cooked in fat! Went to work, coffee in hand thougt, due to the bitterness, I'll put some sugar in my coffee to help the taste, and reheat in microwave and blow me down, the cup set on fire! Yes fire! The microwave was ruined, had to replace it. I rang straight away to find out what the hell the cup was made of and to advise they need to warn other customers. Manager wasn't in so left message, now THREE days later, I still have not heard from management. My warning is, don't put your so called paper cup in the microwave, you too will be up for more than $24 for breakfast. (I have been reheating take away coffees in microwaves for years) Tina
